About Us
California Alpacas
It was by chance, while driving in the country, that I first saw an Alpaca. I had no idea what these quirky, majestic creatures were but I fell completely in love with them. I began researching and reading everything I could find about Alpacas, their origin and their fiber. That is when I realized how well they fit into our lifestyle! Alpacas were the perfect addition to our six grandchildren, five horses, three rescue miniture burros, three barn cats, three dogs and a herd of cattle. Bear River Alpacas is located on 135 acres at Bear River Ranch, just east of Lincoln, California. We are family owned and operated to insure our alpacas are well cared for, raised in a loving environment and bred with the highest standards. With over twenty five years of business experience as well as breeding, raising and showing American Quarter Horses, We have the knowledge, background and experience to operate a successful ranch. Meeting new friends and helping new alpaca owners learn how to choose and care for their alpacas is part of what makes this lifestyle so enjoyable!.
